Technology Requirements
To support online learning and academic activities at Parami University, students are expected to have access to the following minimum technology requirements.
Minimum Device Requirements
Computer
Laptop or desktop computer recommended
Tablets and mobile devices may support some activities, but a computer is strongly recommended for coursework, assignments, and examinations
Minimum display resolution: 1366 × 768
Recommended battery life: at least 3 hours
Processor (CPU)
Minimum: Intel Core i3 (6th Generation or equivalent AMD processor)
Recommended: Intel Core i5 (8th Generation or equivalent)
Memory (RAM)
Minimum: 4 GB RAM
Recommended: 8 GB RAM
Storage
Minimum: 64 GB available storage
Recommended: 128 GB SSD available storage
Operating System
Windows 10 or later recommended
Chromebook devices may work for basic coursework
Android 10 or later and iOS 15 or later may be used for limited access
Internet Requirements
Stable internet connection
Minimum recommended speed: 5 Mbps download / 2 Mbps upload
Recommended speed: 20 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload
Students should be able to participate in Zoom classes, access Canvas, and submit assignments online
Camera and Audio
Functional webcam (built-in or external)
Minimum webcam quality: 720p
Working microphone
Earphones or headphones recommended for online classes
Connectivity
Wi-Fi capability (802.11n or later recommended)
Bluetooth 4.0 or later optional but helpful for wireless devices
Additional Recommendations
Backup internet access, such as a mobile hotspot, when possible
Regular device updates for security and performance
Access to a quiet study environment whenever available
Antivirus or device security software recommended
